REMINDER: November General Meeting is Tomorrow!

The November General Meeting on November 1 at 8:30 at Blue Willow Bookshop. Liz Sullivan will entertain us with her hysterical stories while telling us about all the hot new books on the market. Yes, we will be meeting at Blue Willow the morning after Halloween, but we promise you strong coffee and a good time! Bonus, one lucky lady will win a book of their choice. You do need to be present to win.

Spartan Share Donations

We are collecting money for the Spartan Share Committee so that they can shop for the wish list items our families need. The deadline to make a donation is Thursday, November 17th. Please consider donating!

Note that you can earn 1 hour per $25 donation (and up to a maximum of 3 hours)

SHERWOOD ELEMENTARY – Blessings in a Backpack: Have any plastic grocery bags at home? They are NEEDED for Blessings deliveries. Contact Kelly Davis to coordinate drop off. Thanks!

Blessings in a Backpack – Bayou City: We have lots of volunteer opportunities for Blessings in a Backpack – Bayou City in October! Use sign up geniuses below to volunteer. Blessings Fall 2022 sign up HERE!

Houston Symphony: Sign up HERE to volunteer for student concerts hosted by the Houston Symphony. Reminder: students need to be accompanied by an adult to usher for the symphony Nov 8th. As of now, the concerts available for sign up are the only ones planned for this school year. See you at the show!

MDPC Food Pantry: The Fuente Pantry is still distributing food to 400+ families every Saturday and we will need more volunteers every week. Sign up HERE  and join us for a couple of hours any Saturday.

BCE Volunteer Opportunities: If you want an extremely flexible volunteer opportunity please consider helping the Buffalo Creek Elementary Librarian Susie! She would love help any school day between 8-3. Needs are re-shelving books and a few other projects within the library. Sign Up using her Google Doc:

BCE will be hosting a Veteran’s Day Event Thursday, November 10th from 5:30-7pm and would like some help to facilitating games for families to participate in. Please contact Nicole Phillips if you would like to volunteer.

MAM: There are some great weekday AM opportunities at MAM next week! Perfect time to knock your hours out before the craziness of fall begins. (You can also do some shopping at their fabulous shop while there….win win!) Sign up HERE!

NEW MAM opportunity! They are having a workday on Nov. 13th from 11am to 3pm. They need help cleaning and restocking the store after the half off sale. You can come for as little as or as long as you want! About 15 volunteers are needed, and all must be at least 13, and if they are under 16, will need to come with a parent. Fun way to earn some hours together with your kiddo! Please email me at sara-long@att.net if interested.
