Volunteer Opportunities:
Please register for all schools with SBISD HERE. FJWC volunteers at multiple schools in the district, please make sure you “check” all the schools in our area.
Buffalo Creek Elementary: If you are looking for the ultimate in flexibility there are several opportunities that are not date or time specfic. (I had to pick a date for the sign up genius I put them on Sept 1st.) You can pick the day and time you want to help!
There is also opportunities to support their Back to School night on Sept 14th along with Guest readers on Sept 15th and 29th.

MAM: Please click HERE to serve at MAM during the Fall of 2023. We help Memorial Assistance Ministries provide needed services to the families in our local community by volunteering our time in their store. Be sure to carefully read the information provided by MAM, as they have a dress code for volunteers.
AYAM: Please consider signing up to volunteer for 2nd Grade Field Trips to AYAM. Click on the sign up genius HERE.
Houston Symphony: Looking for a ticket to introduce fine arts to children, see a concert, and get your 10,000 steps in? Don’t go off key and miss your chance to sign up to volunteer for student concerts hosted by the Houston Symphony. Click HERE and see you at the shows!
CanCare: Sign Up HERE for CanCare’s golf tournament and ParTee and Silent Auction. They have scheduled both events on one day this year. The date is Monday, October 9, 2023 and they would like to have all volunteers signed up by September 22nd for their planning purposes. Thank you!
Family Point Resources: Any parent or kid that hasn’t been through FPR training must do so before they can volunteer.
1) Fill out a volunteer application on our website
2) Receive/complete background check via email (under 18 years old, then a parent can sign HERE. )
3) Sign up for in-person training at the center HERE.
4) Sign up to volunteer after school HERE or at the FPR Luncheon HERE.
Spring Branch Blessings in a Backpack: Help pack bags Thursday Nights at 6:30. We will meet at Christ Community Church. This is a great hands on opportunity to serve. Volunteer HERE!
Friday Morning Deliveries: This year we will be serving TWO schools, Sherwood Elementary AND Thornwood Elementary. The process is still the same as in previous years. We will meet at Christ Community Church at 8:00 am, load up the bags, and drive them to the schools. Deliveries start 10/5 (a Thursday) due to a student holiday 10/6. This is a great way to serve if you have time in Friday mornings. Grab a friend, clean out your back seat, and come see what its all about! Sign-Up HERE!
Bayou City Blessings in a Backpack: BCBB delivers and distributes weekend food to over 600 students at Spring Shadows Elementary (almost) every Friday of the school year. We need drivers and ‘boots on the ground’. It’s so fun and the best way to start your weekend! Click HERE to volunteer.
Blessings in a Backpack: Below is information and signups for volunteer opportunities in September, October and November:
1. Friday morning deliveries of weekend food bags to local SBISD elementary schools – food bags will be loaded into the back of your car under the portecache on the Tallowood Drive side of the Holy Spirit parking lot. You will deliver the food bags to one of the following schools: Meadow Wood, Nottingham, Hollibrook, Treasure Forest, Bunker Hill and Hunters Creek Elementary (once a month). Easy peasy way to get service hours! Click below:
November Drivers
2. Community food packing at Holy Spirit – assembly line style packing of the food bags which are delivered to local schools on Friday mornings. Great way to get service hours with your kids! Click below:
